1. What is Tipanat?

• Metastatic Colorectal Cancer (mCRC): When the cancer has spread and is no longer responding to other treatments.
• Metastatic Gastric Cancer (mGC): Including cancer of the gastroesophageal junction, after at least two prior treatment regimens have failed.

2. Key Precautions & Warnings

Do not use Tipanat if you:

• Are allergic to trifluridine, tipiracil, or any other ingredient in the medicine.
• Are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

Important Safety Information:

• Blood Monitoring is Crucial: Tipanat can cause a severe decrease in white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. This increases your risk of:

  • Anemia (due to low red blood cells).
  • Bleeding or Bruising (due to low platelets).

3. How to Take Tipanat Correctly

• Dosage: Based on your body surface area (usually 35 mg/m²).
• Frequency: Twice a day.
• Timing: Take the tablets within one hour after a meal (e.g., after breakfast and dinner). This helps reduce nausea.
• Do not crush, chew, or split the tablets. Swallow them whole with water.

Standard 28-Day Treatment Cycle:

• Weeks 1 & 2: Take the prescribed dose twice daily for 5 days, then rest for 2 days.
• Weeks 3 & 4: Rest completely (no tablets).
• After this 28-day cycle, your doctor will reassess your condition for the next cycle.

What to do if you miss a dose?
Skip the missed dose and continue with your next scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose.
