What Andractim is used for

According to the official French label (ANSM), Andractim is used in adult men as testosterone replacement therapy for male hypogonadism — a diagnosis that must be confirmed by two separate blood testosterone measurements and clinical symptoms (such as low libido, fatigue, depressive mood, or hormone-related bone loss). For local application it is also indicated for lichen sclerosus (in men and vulvar lichen sclerosus in women, strictly as prescribed) and gynecomastia in men.

How to apply

Apply to clean, dry, intact skin exactly as prescribed. Squeeze the prescribed dose onto the plastic spreader supplied with the tube — do not handle the gel with bare hands. Spread evenly in a thin layer and allow to dry for about 5–6 minutes before dressing. Do not apply to broken skin or mucous membranes. Wash hands thoroughly after use.

Critical precautions

Transfer risk: skin contact with the application area can transfer DHT to others. Avoid contact with women and children until the gel has dried and the area is covered; accidental exposure in children can cause premature androgenic effects. Men over 50: regular prostate monitoring is required during androgen therapy. Contraindications: prostate cancer, hypersensitivity to any component; not for general androgen therapy in women (risk of virilization).

Possible side effects

Reported: skin irritation at the application site, acne, increased oiliness of the skin, increased body hair, mood changes or irritability, headache. Contact your doctor if these occur.

Storage

Store below 25°C in the original tube, out of the reach of children. Flammable — contains alcohol; keep away from open flame. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack.
