Flustop is a prescription antiviral medicine manufactured by the State Enterprise “Akadempharm” (Minsk, Belarus). Each hard capsule contains 75 mg of oseltamivir (as oseltamivir phosphate 98.5 mg), an inhibitor of influenza virus neuraminidase. The pack contains 10 capsules in one blister together with the patient leaflet. Flustop is used for the treatment and prevention of influenza A and B under medical supervision.
Flustop does not replace influenza vaccination.
Take orally, swallowing the capsule whole with water; do not break or chew it. The medicine may be taken with or without food, although taking it with food may reduce nausea or vomiting.
The most common reactions are headache and nausea; bronchitis, cough, runny nose, sore throat, dizziness, insomnia, abdominal pain, indigestion and vomiting also occur. Rarely reported since oseltamivir came on the market: severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis, angioedema), liver function disturbances, Stevens–Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, gastrointestinal bleeding, and neuropsychiatric disorders (confusion, seizures, changes in behaviour), mainly in children and adolescents. If any of these occur, seek medical help immediately.
Store in a place protected from light and moisture at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, out of the reach and sight of children. Shelf life: 3 years. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack.
